Star Wars: The Old Republic Q&A - The Jedi Knight
Interview about the Jedi Knight class with 2 devs |here|. They don't actually reveal much.

I did notice they said no auto attack which is a bit strange seeing as we've seen auto attack with other classes. Maybe it's more of a 'you wont be auto attacking much' thing.

I do not see a problem with no auto-attack and dont recall any footage showing what buttons the player is pressing to make their character attack.
AoC had no auto attack, for each action you needed to press a button, even if it was just 'attack left' or 'attack right'.

Good interview. I have seen others say that there is no auto attack for any class in TOR. Not sure its confirmed though.

Nice, no auto attack means that this game's gonna need skill... ME LIKE!

Agreed!!
I mean, I got used to and enjoyed the attack system for WoW, but strategy adds a little something to the game.
Just one thing to be careful about is pushing away gamers that want ease of use. Not as many are into the Star Wars game to play as a tough gamer. They just to play through the story; live out their personal Star Wars fantasy. If they find the battle system too difficult, they'll bail after the trial period is up.

Oh god those auto attack games SUCK! Whats the point in playing a game if there isn't any skill to it?

Singe-player auto-attack games can be fun.
Take KOTOR for example, that was actually fun to watch and use your abilities.

Single player games don't count. Speaking of mmo auto attack systems. :P

I wonder though, if there will be quick action buttons. 1 force push, 2 slash attack, 3 backhand slap, 4 run away very fast, 5 call mommy.
