Re: What are you reading?
Had an odd feeling I've already read this before, the plot seemed eerily familiar. Still, it was a good read from one of my favorite series.

Re: What are you reading?
How about you make a database of novels you have read and the rating you gave them. Just sayin'..

When and if we (the OUF) get a domain we could totally make a sub-section for Kevlar's reviews. or the whole guild in general

Re: What are you reading?
If I had to accurately describe my feelings towards this book as a short sequence of actions.
I'd vomit in my sleep.

Macho stoic tough guy isn't really my shtick (incase you hadn't figured out, it's sexy dangerous tough gals.) But it wasn't that bad a book.
I worked out who the bad guy was pretty much the same time the protagonist started 'suspecting' the person. Though of course the main character doesn't actually say who he was suspecting till the last 5% of the book.

Re: What are you reading?
The ending was the best part of the book, to be completely honest, I don't remember much of the rest of it...

Re: What are you reading?
It might sound lame, but I read a ton of Star Wars books. That's mainly what I read, I guess I'm a bit too into it at times. Other than that, I only really read religious material, and every now and then a novel that has caught my eye.

Re: What are you reading?
The dark nest series was a good one, i enjoyed that it was like a seperate adventure from everything else. A nice break from all the drama of the never ending EU series that began after the huge Yuzzan Vong war series. A great transition to the legacy of the force.

Re: What are you reading?
i have to be honest I hated the dark nest series i really didnt like where they went with them. and what they lead Jacen into.
I loved Jacen as a character and even though the legacy was a good reead I thought there was so much more they could of done with him

Re: What are you reading?
I was never really a fan, but you know who I definitely want to read more about? Kyle Katarn, I actually checked out a book I believe he is to be in, by accident. Star by Star, he's in that right?

Re: What are you reading?
Yes, but it's a very minor role. At most, he's mentioned as being on the Jedi Council of the NJO in several different novels, and maybe a couple lines of dialogue, beginning with the actual NJO series and continuing on through the Fate of the Jedi (current series in development/publication).

Time for some cool beans in this thread :P
I just picked up the SWTOR book: Fatal Alliance
Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/0345511328/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=283155&s=books
which apparently isn't out yet on Amazon so go me.
But I have to finish the other book I'm reading which Kev would probably like:

Re: What are you reading?
I am reading a book, written in 1843 by W.H. Prescott. Its called the Conquest of Mexico. It is a fairly good read, being so historically inclined that it is, and it shows a lot more intelligent civilization than what most history books might lead you to believe about the Aztec, Tlascans, Mayans, etc. It shows that during the time of the exploration/conquest/conversion of Mexico by Cortes, all of these civilizations, mainly the three that I had stated, had civilizations that rivaled even Europe's greatest cities. It is a very informative read, and since I'm going to be majoring in history I like to know these things.

Right now I am reading Allies from the Fate of the Jedi series, which has proven to be rather decent so far.

Just finished a book suggested to me by Eoku
Basically it's what happens when you take a bunch of super-heroes and zombies then put them in a book.
This is one of those times when I say,
"It's actually not bad..."
Meaning that when I picked up the book, I thought it was going to be shit. It was briefly non-centric at a number of times. It has a male protagonist whom I dislike. It's a stand alone novel, not a part of a series.
But the zombies and storyline made up for most of it I think. It wasn't THAT great of a book, but if I had of known how I'd feel about the book before I read it, I would still read it (if that makes any sense)

Re: What are you reading?
I am currently reading "Knight Errant". It is pretty cool so far but I haven't gotten very far. It is about the Sith Empire lords who battle each other over terroritory. Two lords are rival brothers...one who believes he created the Universe and one who believes he can destroy the Universe. There are twin Sith Lords and another one as well. The Jedi Errant is a young female recently knighted Jedi who goes to take out the lords with the help of a Sith spy and a mercenary general. It is set about 1000 years before the movies and a century before Darth Bane, the rule of two and the end of the Sith empire that is mentioned in the movies.
