Re: World Cup 2010
Unless you're talking about the rugby world cup, I don't care about it. And yes, a "bloody Yank" just said that.

Re: World Cup 2010

I never cared for the World Cup much ... until I moved outside of the U.S.. The passion it instills in people is amazing. The last two were pretty boring, but this one is fun. Players don't seem like such sissies as in the past ... pretending to be hurt all the time. However, the hair-do's still kill me. I swear some players spend more time preparing their hair than they do practicing.

Re: World Cup 2010
Well I am really enjoying the world cup again.
2 wins in the bag for the Netherlands. So its already clear we passed the pool face.
But I do think its a strange competition, lots of ties and if i'm honnest not that great football. But maybe we see a change soon.

Re: World Cup 2010
If it's a team I like I'll watch it, other than that most matches feel like watching bloody ping pong or something.
Definitely more interesting than before though for some reason.

Re: World Cup 2010
This World Cup has been pretty damn weird so far, soo many unexpected results
I'm hoping NZ can pull of an upset and get a draw/win tonight against italy. It's possibly I guess as Italy seem pretty average these days
Switzerland beating Spain has given me hope that Reid will step up again tonight :P
oh god, I'm not going to be getting any sleep tonight as games 2am local time
anyone doing the Fifa Fantasy League?

that game was faaaar to early for me but sounds like it would have been pretty intense game
Can't believe that Kaka went and got himself red carded. one less option for my fantasy football team next week
NZ could totally get into next round, much excite.

Re: World Cup 2010
FAir Play New Zealand have had two great results so far.
Also in the Rugby yoy handed my Cuntry a spanking. pretty even first half then i dont know what you drank at half time but boy did you teach us a lesson.
What impressed me was that we only lost by a few points to SA a few weeks earlier and you made us look a pub team.

Re: World Cup 2010
surprised North Korea could compete at all. Their entire population is literally half starved. Almost as bad as Nigerians.

Re: World Cup 2010
They are really badly ranked (below us) but they did pretty well against Brazil
Wonder what kind of propaganda they're using to explain the defeat over there

Re: World Cup 2010
Probably blaming it on us in the south (who just tied this morning and are moving on to the next round!)

Re: World Cup 2010
I think the most awesome thing about it was that it was the first game they decided to play Live
I think after doing well against Brazil they weren't expecting to get rolled soo badly
apparently the commentators were speechless and the feed just ended after the game

Too bad! Crazy game soccer is. What is "extra time" anyway? Something wrong with a sport that has so many sissies pretending to be hurt that it disrupts the flow the game to such an extent that they need "extra time."

Re: World Cup 2010
Oh youve never seen what happens in football...someone gets hurt in the last quarter as its about to end, and it drags the game on for like thirty more minutes instead of just getting the guy off the field.

Yeah, but he's *really* hurt. American football is a man's game, with Brett Farve being the ultimate man (even if he's a bit ... indecisive). Soccer ... just a bunch of sissies trying to get a free-kick. Game is flawed ... but I sure enjoy watching the fans, especially the one's with assets.

Oh, and dont forget the after game riots...those are always interesting to watch.

Re: World Cup 2010
Im still holding out hope my home country(well my families anyway) Portugal will take the world cup this year. All else fails I am pulling for the underdogs in this one so my pick besides portugal will be..... Japan.

Re: World Cup 2010
Portugal will probably lose to Spain tonight I think.
The Spanish have been in better form but it should be pretty close
inb4 Ronoldo dives at a crucial point in the game
I'm supporting Germany to take it out this year, failing that it would be Argentina

Re: World Cup 2010
Go go Portugal. Must be an Aussie thing but I love going for the underdog!
And yes the off field spectacle of soccer is alot of fun to watch, be it the riot or the female supporters. I think I gota get me to a World Cup one day

Wait on second thought..... there is a world cup going on? I thought we were watching full contact camera man filming. They seem to be getting beaten up a lot lately.
