Remember that mIRC is still here guys! Its simple to use. So those of you who haven't yet, drop in and say hi!

We might not be always there, but there is usually one or more people active in the channel.

Occasionally we have a party. =P

Yeah, I think IRC is mostly dead =P atleast, the times I was on there was no one there. Not sure what happened to it.

We should probably start mentioning it in the applications again, get some of the recruits on there to have a chat.

Does anyone know of any good chat engines or systems? I am gonna start researching them soon to see if we can get a good one to put on the forums here.

A while back I started to setup a Teamspeak server for us, but at the time school was starting to get a bit demanding of my spare time. Now that i'm on holiday I may be able to return to getting it up and running. (If i can find my admin login data)

We definitely plan on having a teamspeak or ventrillo, but we decided it would be better to wait until closer to the game release. Are you saying you have your own personal Teamspeak server or account?

Pretty much yeah, used it years ago for my Diablo 2 days. Only problem is I cant seem to make the cursed thing work with my new PC. (Stupid Vista)

Edit: I believe I need to forward the port, which I have no idea how to do. Any advice here?? And also probably configure McAfee to allow full connection.

How is your LAN set up? What firewall are you running? Where exactly are you having the problem with Teamspeak?

Go here: http://portforward.com/ and choose your brand and model of router and it will walk you through it with screen shots and everything.

I uninstalled it awhile ago.
As for a new 'test chat' Arashi, I heard about this one awhile back, I have no idea how it works anymore though it's browser based so it should be a lot easier to use.

IRC isn't going so well, instead check out the new OUF chat built into the forums!

Simply click the 'Chat' button between 'Forum' and 'Roster' in the navigation buttons along the top of this page!

It will open a new window/tab in your browser.

They took it off a long time ago (like two or three weeks after I had joined) then replaced it with IRC, then people stopped using the IRC a few months ago so now we've got this chat now.

It's basic but pretty easy to use, I like it

well, the current situation is that we have essentially 2 chat rooms.

each receive rare bursts of extreme activity, followed by long long stretches of utter silence.

The first is the newer Chatbox, (see the chat button up top)

The second is the old IRC channel, which is still running, (I'm parked on there every day, even though I no longer see anyone.)

If people want to pick IRC backup, remember its Darkmyst server, channel #OUF

if you have trouble of activation of mIRC or forget how to register and identify your screenname, just msg me on IRC or PM here.
