Re: OD Thread (Open Discussion)
I think it IS a remake of that movie ... man ... I remember Medusa in that movie ... she scared the hell out of me. They used that old technique for animating monsters ... it was clay or something. And then the dude used his shield I think to reflect her gaze back on her ... or did he? I remember he chopped her head off I think ... because he threw it on the ground at a beach to show Zeus (maybe?) and that part scared the hell out of me, too. Man, WAY too long ago and WAY too many beers since. Awesome movie ... I want to see it again.

Playing Dragon Age Awakening, for an expansion it's really long, a few glitches and annoyances here and there and Bioware seems to have made the difficulty a bit easy, but it's pretty cool so far and definitely worth most of it's cost.
Edit: Finished it, is awesome despite being rushed and having a slightly abrupt ending.

Went to see a huge collection of Andy Warhol's work here in Seoul today. I could sit here and pretend to sound smart by talking about it, or I could tell the truth and instead admit how stupid art makes me feel. I'm not sure who I dislike more ... artists, or the people who tell 'us' whether or not their art is good.

Re: OD Thread (Open Discussion)
haha, art is pretty subjective udu, some people just 'get' some kinds of art, while they are completely oblivious to other types.
Personally I define art as something created the inspires some kind of emotional or mental reaction from me. So many things can be works of art. A novel, a painting, a dance, a song, architecture, even the rare game.

As Mr. Warhol said, "Art is anything you can get away with." However, I think there should be some mandated skill level. We've just taken it too far. Sometimes a pile of candy in the corner of a contemporary art museum is just a pile of candy. I don't care if you paint something stupid, but it should take skill. In other words, a three year old shouldn't be able to duplicate what you created. Too many people try to make themselves feel important by claiming they see things in contemporary art that just aren't there. Is it a coincidence that Andy Warhol's movement and the birth of contemporary art came in the heyday of LSD and dropping acid? I think not. And now we have a bunch of 60+ year old farts running around who couldn't make it themselves as an artist, who couldn't even paint the likeness of a African standing in the middle of a pitch-black cave, claiming to be "artists" and patting each other on the back for smearing poop on a religious icon and calling it "art."
All this said, at least most of us live in countries that allow people to express themselves as they wish.

Happy birthday you guys!
Also, I saw kick-ass. Both visceral and hilarious. 'Hit-Girl's' entrance scene is awesome, especially with the music.

Re: OD Thread (Open Discussion)
I keep seeing trailers for that and Iron Man 2
I keep dying of anticipation.
Speaking of anticipation and Marvel movies.... is anyone else surprised/pissed that Chris Evans is going to play Captain America? I mean he's already a Marvel movie character. No!

You think with all the marvel movies, and some subtle hints throughout, that an Avenger's film is in the works?

I know for a fact that it is.
Here's the list:
-Iron Man 2 - 2010
-Thor - May 2011 (P.S. Natalie Portman is starring in it = WIN!!)
-The First Avenger: Captain America - July 2011
-The Avengers - 2012
Note that none of these are rumored, they're all contracted and up on IMDB.
And another thing... Joss Whedon is the director for the Avengers movie. How freakin' awesome is that? I kind of lost my shit when that was announced.

Re: OD Thread (Open Discussion)
Joss Whedon makes really good shows, too bad they cost so much frikkin' money to make

Best part of the episode IMO.
