P.C requirements for the game
Has anyone herd what kind of P.C. requirements will be needed to play the game. I would hate to get so pumped up to play only to find out my video card is outdated or my processer is too slow.

Re: P.C requirements for the game
They have made it clear that they want to make the game playable for as many people as possible. Specific system requirements have not been put out yet though. If you post your system specs we can speculate with you.

I'd say that you'll probably be able to run in on lower settings, I doubt it would handle higher settings however.
The thing that would probably be stressed the most are GPU (video cards), games these days are getting so resource intensive that current gen GPU's are more powerful then CPU's
I'd highly recommend getting a new mid-line GPU atleast, maybe at the very least a 8800 (I'm running a 8800GT) They are pretty cheap.

GPU? CPU? Help me out here I could tell you what is wrong with your furnace by just listening to it. Install a faucet in 15 min. but computor lingo is not my strong suite.
Sorry missed the rest of that post.

Re: P.C requirements for the game
CPU = Central Processing Unit, or simply processor
GPU = Graphic Processing Unit, aka video card
I agree with Kevlar that you should be able to run the game with your current setup. The best upgrade for you to make, like Kev said, would probably be the the video card. It would be best to wait until just before the release to upgrade so you can get the best for your money.

My base computer was a
Nvidia 7100 on board video card
2.6 GHZ duel core processor
300GB harddrive
450WaT power supply
Now i have a
BFG Tech Nvidia GeForce overclocked 260
and a 1000 wat power supply.
My windows vista computer rating used to be all between 3-4 now all but one are maxed out at 5.9
I have yet to get a game that i cant play on full graphics without lag.
So yea if you get even a Nvidia Geforce 9800 you'll be good. those things still kick ass.

I can only go to an 8600 max on that card without A major overhaul. I was told the 9600 connects differently in the unit.
Thank you everyone for your feedback

Re: P.C requirements for the game
Well there are two different kind of card slots. Actually more but two normal ones that all motherboards generally have.
One in the PCI and the other is the PCIE card. The E means express and i think all cards after the 9600 use PCIE slots. The PCIE slots allow for faster and better looking graphics. An 8600 is also a nice card.
What you never want to do is get a card in the 1-3 series because they usually suck. like a 9500 is monumentally better then a 9100.
Although if you can get any 9000 series over a 8000 series DO IT because the 9000 series has a 90% higher performance level then the 8000 series.

I would like to see a screenshot of that, I have heard many times that 5.9 is not possible without a SSD.
Nevermind I see the problem, you got the top end number wrong, its 7.9
As it goes by the lowest sub number, nothing except a SSD can get past 5.9

According to its specs its got a PCI-E 16x expansion slot.
This will run most moden vid cards.

Give us your budget for upgrading and we can narrow it down.

Re: P.C requirements for the game
Seeing as how this game may not be coming out for another year or so I would wait until at least a month before release before thinking about picking up a card now. I'd also recommend you pick up some RAM, but again, when we get closer to launch. A lot can happen between now and then.

Yeah, the game won't be released until 2010, it looks at the moment probably sometime in April~July.
So I would wait until maybe a couple of months before release before upgrading, not only will the specs be released by then, but also hardware right now that are fairly expensive high end stuff will be second or third gen mid range by then and will be ALOT cheaper.
Where as if you were to upgrade now to mid-range setup, by that time it would be mostly third gen or fourth gen tech and end up costing exactly the same

Re: P.C requirements for the game
My advice would be to wait until the game release date is announced and get the mid range for whatever card Nvidia is currently putting out. they are usually fairly inexpensive ~$100 and upgrade to at least 4 gigs of ram and needless to say switch to a 64bit operating system so it can see all that ram.
