I've had this old beat up PC for awhile now and when I heard swtor was going to be on pc I knew I'd have to upgrade, which I'm doing in a few days. It isn't really a hardcore gaming machine but it does come with the nVIDIA 3D Vision Stereoscopic Glasses which I hear makes games look incredible so I'm looking forward to enjoying swtor in 3D

Intel Core2Duo @ 2.53GHz
2Gb RAM (hoping to bump this up to 4 or 6Gb before TOR)
Vista Home 64-bit
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (512Mb I think...)
22" LCD Monitor
320Gb HDD

Not uber-awesome but it more than meets the demands I make.

I honestly have no idea about any of the specs on my computer(s).
Woah, I don't even know what Microsoft version out of XP or Vista either.
Is there somewhere on my computer where I can see the information on my computers hardware?

Start - control panel - system. Gets you a bit of info.
There are some sites that will do it for you though.
I totally need a multi-core processor, wont embarrass myself with the specs but lets just say that COD WAW gets laggy...
although I did manage to play through Crysis on it so can't be too bad.

Also, CRT monitor!!! - but it's starting to die now..

I have a very outdated computer in my opinion, though I'm not actually quite sure what goes for "good" now which is why I prefer Mac computers.

Microsoft Windows XP professional Version 2002 (so I had XP after all.)
AMD Sempron Processor 2800+, 1.60 GHz (what does this stand for?) 512 MB of RAM.

Intel Core2 Quad Q9450 @ 2.66GHz
8GB Corsair Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ 512MB Dedicated and 2GB Shared memory
Windows Vista 64Bit Premium
HP (forget model) 24" monitors x2

Don't think anything else matters really.
I have 5 other computers but this is my main machine.

The next upgrade is graphics, my monitor can handle xfire and I am thinking of moving away from nVidia this time around for ATI.
Then again I may just get another single nVidia card, I am undecided.

ATI Radon-or something HD 4850
Only 4GB RAM :(
Windows Vista 64Bit Premium Home Edition

Havent upgraded anything on this PC, just got it. I think i'll probably get more RAM and a better graphics card closer to the release date.

The i7 is a friggin awesome processor. I'm guessing you have the 920 which comes out at 2.66GHz. I've been reading up on it and people are overclocking these processors to 4 GHz with ease. I have been looking in to putting together a machine and I was set on AMD until my buddy had me read a review done by Guru3d on the i7's. I'll be buying one for sure here shortly. I just hope I get a good batch that will allow me to get the same overclocks as some people have been getting.

Just a single Nvidia card, the board supports xfire because at the time the SLI boards avaliable were shit.
I may go ATI, I am undecided.

Err, I think it's my Total RAM. Is it bad? Out of all my families computers this one is probably the most slowest, junkiest little thing ever. I have to use it for like half the week.

I would call it bad, as long as you can play what you want, it doesn't matter. But maybe you could upgrade your RAM at least to 2 or 4 gigs.. Not sure the specs neccesary for SWTOR though..

I don't see how that would be adequate for SWTOR. Computers are really cheap these days, you can easily get a dual core + mobo and 4gb ram for well under $200. But then there's the PSU, a new case, and a graphics card :D. It does add up. I think the best time to upgrade is at boxing day. Probably best to spend the most on a graphics card.

My current setup:

AMD x2 7750BE OC'd @ 3.25GHz
4GB CorsairXMS2DHX DDR2-800 ram
EVGA 730a Mobo
EVGA 9800GTX+ 512mb GDDR3 ram
Seasonic 600watt PSU
B-enspirer sound card
Cooler Master HAF 932 (Love this case :D)
Windows 7 RTM x64

So, apparently, having a really out-dated system and wishing on a star isn't going to be getting me the necessities to run TOR.
I'm in beta for Champions Online (I think everyone gets into that as long as they apply) and the game crashes every time I try to load it. Definitely a sign to update the system.
Currently running at a measly...
2.4 GHz Pentium 4
1GB DDR Ram
CD-RW 48x32x48 max
DVD-ROM 16x max
nVidia 9200se 64MB
Yeah... purchased 6 years ago, little add-ons here or there and now it's time to say good-bye.

Well I got my Antec 1200 case in today! So the long road of building my new PC has begun. This case is massive. I had to hide it in the spare bed rooms closet so I won't be tempted to buy the rest of the hardware I need to get it up and running. But I'll list what I plan on getting, or at least my wish list for now.

case - Antec 1200(have)
MOBO - Asus P6T Deluxe OC Palm
Processor - i7 920
RAM - probably OCZ gaming RAM
HDD - hoping the SSD's will drop in price so I can run RAID 0
Video - GTX 285 OC(have)
PSU - probably BFG, but undecided on size and maker
Monitor - mainly just a decent 20" with a 2ms response, might run two

I currently have a 4 year old dell with a Pentium 4 3.2GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, Nvidia 6800 and I have an Alienware laptop Intel dual core at 2.5GHz, 4 GB RAM, Nvidia 8700M GT. I probably shouldn't be building one, but I have been wanting to for a while now and I figured TOR was a good reason to. I just hope I have the money to finish it sometime in the next six months or so.

Wow, that's an awesome setup! The 1200 is a nice case, I had a hard decision between that and the HAF 932. Having RAID 0 with SSD's would be just incredible! I would love to get the i7 920 and then OC it like mad, but I'm undecided. I've always been an AMD + ATI guy so I might just get one of the newer AMD cores coming out later this year (the 965 is out this month @ 3.4GHz). By boxing day, I plan to get the new SB850/RD890 chipset (SATA 3 :D), and I believe the new Radeon 5000 series will be out later this year so I would love to get one of those, they are suppose to have huge improvements compared to the 4000 series.
